O roteirista entra para a seleta lista que já contava com seu mentor, Grant Morrison.

"Ser escritor, em parte, é ficar longe disso, mas creio que estas honrarias são a forma do sistema incluir todo mundo." Disse ele em entrevista ao jornal The Harold. 

A Medalha da Ordem do Império Britânico que condecora seus mais ilustres cidadãos, agora é dirigida ao "roteirista de quadrinhos e produtor de cinema" pelos "serviços à literatura e às artes dramáticas".

E que Deus salve a rainha!
